Nits

Like devils with six egs

Sucking up my blood

Crawling through my hair

Digging there fangs into my scalp

Nasty little itchy things biting at my scalp

Making me itch all day

The comb will stop them

They can’t escape

I’m soon 61

61, 61, 61, I’m soon 61

Just soon I’m 61

But I’m now 6+1=7

So just 54 brthdays to go

Going to School

I like to go to school all week

It can be  a real good treat

You learn and play and do PPA

You can have a real good day.

English is what I like best

You can read and write and do spelling tests

But poems are what I like best

John Hegley visits Chorlton Park

Poet John Hegley visited Chorlton Park recently to perform to children and parents. While here, a group of Year 6 children grabbed the opportunity to interview him about his poetry. Thanks to Sarah, Myles and Anna for their great questions. Afterwards, John commented that it was one of the best children’s interviews he’d done.

Reading at Chorlton Park

We have made reading a special focus this year. We are putting together a programme of events and information designed to fire up all our children’s interest in books.

Staff, governors, the PTA and parents are working together to present visits from poets, writers and illustrators; story selling sessions; workshops; competitions; blogs and a readathon.
